MYT Works Camera Sliders

Modularity and Versatility

MYT Works Camera Sliders were designed by filmmakers for filmmakers. They are precision engineered to adapt to the evolving climate of cinema, TV and video production. MYT Works has achieved this by making their sliders incredibly modular. This allows the user to easily breakdown the equipment for portability purposes. Alternatively, the slider’s modularity allows the user to easily mount it to c-stands, tripods, and beyond. Furthermore, MYT Works has a patented 3-in-1 Camera Slider Dolly System. This includes the high-hat, slider, and rover dolly. That’s three different camera set-ups in one package!

 

Durability and Precision

As these sliders range in size, so do they in weight. The lightest slider weighs in at 13 pounds while the heaviest weighs 54 pounds. Furthermore, MYT Works sliders are durable. All sliders feature double-extruded aluminum alloy rails. This inflexible material eliminates the need for center support.

In addition, they feature what MYT Works refers to as “Hybrid Rolling Sliding Bearings.” These bearings allow for smooth and dampened motion while making it easy for the user to maintain control. The rolling element lowers the force necessary to make movement. Meanwhile, the sliding elements keeps the camera under control. This prevents unwanted backlash and overshooting, giving the user new levels of precision control.

Angenieux EZ-1 Lens and EZ-2 Lens

Let’s talk about the Angenieux EZ-1 Lens and EZ-2 Lens. These very unique lenses give the user the option to change their focal lengths – giving you two lenses in one (or four in two). By exchanging the rear lens group, the EZ-1 and EZ-2 can be transformed into lenses of greater focal lengths. Both of these lenses feature an image circle of up to 46mm diagonal and an image cover of 30mm diagonal. These lenses are fast, at T2 across the zoom range and designed for use with Super 35mm sized sensors. They also feature negligible levels of focus breathing. Furthermore, they are lightweight. The EZ-1 and EZ-2 lenses both weigh just over 4.5 pounds. LVR has The Angenieux EZ-1 Lens and EZ-2 Lens available to rent in PL, EF, and E mount. All of these components make the EZ lenses extremely modular and versatile tools. Finally, the EZ-1 and EZ-2 lenses by Angenieux create beautiful bokeh, and are color-matched to the Optimo and Optimo Style Series.

Angenieux EZ-1 Lens

The EZ-1 lens, depending on the user’s preference for application, is a 30-90mm or 45-135mm zoom. It features a zoom factor of 3x and is slightly larger than the EZ-2, measuring 8.9 inches in length.

The EZ-2 lens can be adjusted from a 15-40mm to a 22-60mm zoom lens. This lens features a zoom factor of 2.7x and measure 8.3 inches in length.

Heden YMER-1 Wireless Follow Focus Kit

 

The Heden YMER-1 Wireless Follow Focus Kit is a sleek and intuitive wireless focus or iris control unit. It also features an optional wired zoom control via LANC. Heden brought some very exciting new features to the table with this unit. We’ve had a great time trying them out and are excited to share them with you!

The first feature to point out is Heden’s all new LenSaver Calibration™ (patent pending). This new technology is a new, unique way of calibrating a follow focus system. To use this feature, just press the calibration button. Next, move the lens by hand from end-stop to end-stop. Lastly, just press the calibration button once more. That’s all! This addition makes the Heden YMER-1 Wireless Follow Focus easy and fast to use.

 

 

The YMER also boasts a new feature called Manual OverrideTM. The Manual Override allows the user to take manual control over the lens without jeopardizing calibration.

 

Operating the YMER

The Heden YMER-1 Wireless Follow Focus allows for uninterupted wireless transmission up to 500 meters, or 1,640 feet (line of sight) away. In addition, the control knob features adjustable resistance and is controlled via smooth rotary movement. This gives the user full control over the lens movements. Moreover, this wireless follow focus allows you to set adjustable limit points for easy focus front point A to B. It also has a precision mode for more exact control over an adjustable range. By pressing the ‘camera run’ button, the user can easily start and stop recording from a distance. Finally, this unit features mounting point on the transmitter. This makes it convenient and easy to attach to other devices!

Arri L10-C Color LED Fresnel Light

This week, we want to draw attention to Arri’s largest L-Series Lamphead, the Arri L10-C Color LED Fresnel Light. This light is part of Arri’s renowned L-Series of lights. The L10 continues the rugged reputation Arri lighting fixtures are known for. It is housed in a casing constructed of aluminum, and fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastics. As a result, the L10-C is a durable piece of equipment. However, weighing in at approximately 45 pounds, it is a bit on the heavy side. Although, given the capabilities of the Arri L10-C Color LED Fresnel Light, this is justifiable.

The L10-C is an extremely efficient RGBW LED. This light consumes a mere one fifth of the power of your tradition 2K lights. However, it outputs a light equivalent of 1700 Watts! Furthermore, this light can withstand a diversity of professional environments, be it a movie set or television studio or on-location setting.

 

Features

Now let’s get down to the features! This light has the capability to have its hue, tint and color temperature continuously adjusted from 2,800K to 10,000K. Additionally, it features full plus or minus green and RGBW throughout the range. This light features a 10″ Fresnel lens as well an extremely powerful light output. This high light output allows the user to place objects farther away and creates a more natural wrapping of light around subjects. Moreover, the L10 is more than twice as bright as the L7 – making it one of the brightest LED Fresnels on the market.

Arri SkyPanel S360-C LED Light

As you already know, we LOVE SkyPanels over here at LVR. First of all, who doesn’t love playing around with RGB+W LEDs? Secondly, they have extremely high light output capabilities at all sizes. Especially the Arri SkyPanel S360-C LED!

ARRI has created the SkyPanel S360-C Kit to allow maximum creative use of the 360-C LED panel. Like all lights in the SkyPanel ‘C’ line, the 360’s have a color temperature able to be adjusted from 2,800K to 10,000K. They also feature full +/- green correction with the turn of a knob. Additionally, the user has full control of the vividness and the saturation of the color. Furthermore, these lights feature a variety of lighting settings and are able to dim from 0% to 100%. However, the S360-C is currently the brightest and largest SkyPanel available!

At 5.8 times larger and 4 times brighter than the S60-C, the Arri SkyPanel S360-C LED Light produces a soft, gorgeous light. In addition, it features a large 105 degree beam angle. This allows the light to travel farther and wrap naturally around even large objects. At 100%, this S360-C produces a tremendous light output as over 120,000 Lumens give you their all!

This beast of a light also has really exciting features. These features include an onboard DMX in and out as well as a simple-to-use onboard control panel. Furthermore, SkyPanels allow the opportunity to swap out front diffusion panels.

Rent it at LVR…
The kit includes a 34.4 x 50.4″ surface area, bi-color fixture with a carbon fiber yoke and a short yoke for hanging the fixture facing down. The versatile light has interchangeable diffusion screens, so ARRI provides them all: Standard, Lite and Heavy Diffusion, as well as an Intensifier to boost output and facilitate long-throw use. The 360-C also comes with both 30 and 60-degree Honeycomb Grids that tighten the light’s 105-degree beam spread, eliminating spill light and permitting selective or dramatic lighting. A Super Clamp Adapter is also included to enable mounting of the Power Supply Unit to a variety of objects such as light stands and truss.
